Significant Land Opportunity - Lake Taupo District
For Sale by Tender
The Lake Taupo Protection Trust (‘Trust’) is a charitable trust formed to administer a public fund for the purpose of reducing annual nitrogen discharges entering Lake Taupo in order to improve water quality and reduce pollution levels in the Lake.
The Trust owns four titles with approximately 1,149 hectares of rural land in the Tihoi area of the Lake Taupo Catchment. Four houses are located on the property.
The property is being sold subject to restrictions to a maximum nitrogen discharge allowance of 5kg of nitrogen per hectare per annum for the overall property. Potential uses may include, but are not limited to, conversion to forestry, carbon trading opportunities, other low nitrogen cropping, subdivision of house lots and eco-tourism.
The Trust invites offers from parties who wish to purchase the land subject to nitrogen reduction arrangements. This is a realistic and significant opportunity to own land in the iconic Lake Taupo district for parties who are able to conduct business under the nitrogen restrictions applied.
Please contact Graeme Fleming, Chief Executive, Lake Taupo Protection Trust on (07) 839 0991, graeme.fleming "at" ltpt.org.nz, or P O Box 4177, Hamilton East, Hamilton for further details and for terms and conditions of tender. All offers must be received by 4pm on 13 August 2010.
